Crossing the yam soof – reed sea. There is some controversy about the route of the Israelites and which body of water was crossed in the miraculous Exodus event. In any case it was an example of the Lord fighting for people! In this case Israel was being pursued by the Egyptian army. The Lord again intervenes in the Creation and changes things. This motif will be repeated throughout the book of Exodus many times.
