Chanukah

Is this holiday for me too?

Chanukah is the time to remember the rededication of the Temple.

We have the opportunity to rededicate ourselves to serve the G~d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

Chanukah is considered a “minor” holiday in Judaism, though it has grown in importance because of the similar timing with  the christian holiday of Christmas.

It is a time to remember “A Great Miracle Happened Here” that is, in Jerusalem, over 2000 years ago. The Jews defeated the Greeks in a series of battles. The Greeks were in the process of  forced Helenization of the Jewish people, and G~d came to the rescue, through the Maccabee family leadership.
